Add to the list...

So speaking of the last post and really how grateful I am to have health insurance and that this information only cost me $20....

Illnesses that my kids have had this year. To recap:

RSV and Strep...together (Tyler, cause of his hospital stay in January)
Strep
Strep
Strep
(You get the point...)
Tonsils out...

Influenza A and Strep...together. Kelley has both. Influenza A is the one that could be swine flu, but they aren't really testing for it anymore. We did catch it within the window of opportunity (she started getting sick yesterday) so she'll be taking Tamiflu, which is supposed to help. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous though about the Flu....if it is swine flu that is really scary for pregnant women. And guess who's been taking care of the little sickling...

I've been really lucky and haven't really caught any of their illnesses so far this year. Let's hope MY irish luck holds out, even if theirs hasn't. We could probably use all your prayers too...

Oh no, I'm so sorry about all of the sickness. Just make sure to wash, wash, wash your hands and everything else you can think of to try to prevent it from spreading to the rest of your family. I hope she gets better soon and that you DON'T get sick. Hang in there friend.

Sis, Just and FYI for your blogger friends. You can get N95 masks at lowes or home depot. I know that some places they are hard to come by. If you all go in together you can buy the contractor pack. 20 for 20 dollars. You don't need the expensive ones, just make sure they are NIOSH approved and are the N95 rating. I did find some small ones at home depot, but if you can't find those, glue a strip of cotton (balls, etc) along the bottom edge and sung them up as tight as you can with the straps.
Store brands usually come in one size fits all. If they carry 3M brand they usually have the different sizes. Also, for good information, helps, etc. go to ihc.org, Health Resources (on the top tool bar), then to Health Resources by topic on the drop down menu, then "I" and find influenza, then Influenza: Seasonal or H1N1 fact sheet. This gives some good information and hand washing instructions. You can also go to http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/guidance_homecare.htm Please, please, please: Everyone needs to take preventative measures.

PS If you are like our family and have a little bit of everything. A respirator for painting (the one that makes you look like an alien) works even better and you don't have to by anything.

I hope they are doing a little better. It is awful when the kids are sick and especially with so much yucky stuff going around. Good luck.
