My new calling!

One of the greatest blessings in my life is the gospel.  I've been so grateful to always have it in my life.  I love the Church, I love the people I meet there and love that it makes me a better person than I believe I would be otherwise.  I have always been one happy to serve where I was called.  As many of you know I LOVE music and play the piano.  My entire married life I've been in music callings, mostly in primary.  They are so fun, but I am so excited now to be serving in the Relief Society.  I was called as the Education (1st) Counselor in the presidency this last week.  I feel a bit in over my head, but am so excited to serve and learn and grow.  Joey is a bit apprehensive about my being busy with this all of the time, but I believe that whom the Lord calls, he qualifies and so I have a hope that I will be qualified as I do my best.

By the way...Joey was called almost immediately as the Scout Master in our new ward.  He's really excited.  He's been in this calling for the last year and a half and LOVES it.  It is a very busy calling for him, so we'll both have to support each other.  Somehow though I think this will make our family stronger and help us both personally and spiritually.

My first non music calling ever was Education counselor. :) And then I had a quick stint in Primary music and then back to a series of RS Presidency callings, then YW. This new calling I have is my first music calling in over 5 years! You're still over music though...so maybe it's not too much of a stretch, right? Also, as far as the busy stuff goes, that's the Enrichment counselor's deal...Education is mostly Sunday stuff. YOU WILL DO GREAT! I was excited to hear you get called (and then promptly felt bad for asking you to lead the music when I realized Sis. U. had also asked you to teach. Sneaky her.)

Congratulations on your new calling. You will just love RS and being in there again. It shouldn't be too busy because you aren't over enrichment. Good luck.

Congrats. That is actually one area of the church that I have not served in yet. Good Luck. You will do great.

I need details on who is in the presidencies. I heard Cyndie is over YW, and Joel is in the bishopric, but I'd love to hear about the others.
